Nonlistening
I Think I'm guilty of almost all the six different types of nonlistening, except for the ambushing and literal listening. I think my major problems are selective listening and pseudolistening. Sometimes my friends like to talk about the same problems a lot and I don't pay attention when things are being repeated but I'll pay attention to things that haven't been said before. When it comes to pseudolistening, I really need to try to really listen and the best way to do that for me would probably interact more during the conversation. When people have a lot to say, I have problem paying attention because too much information is given to me, so I should interact to part of the conversation so I can process all the information in parts rather than a whole. When it comes to selective hearing, I need to listen even when I have heard the story before, because by not listening, I will miss parts that I haven't heard before.

I feel as if I am guilty of all six different types of nonlistening myself. At one point or another, I have engaged in one of them before. We have something in common as I have problems with selective and pseudolistening mostly. These ways of listening usually happens at work and within personal conversations when I have a lot on my mind at the time. I usually do not have problems of nonlistening when I am working at my internship. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that my internship is what my future career will be and I love what I do at my internship. I know I need to be a great listener working at my internship because I know that I learn from listening. It's interesting how we have all these forms of nonlistening , but they only happen in certain situation in life and could change daily in how you participate in nonlistening forms. But, we all know when listening is needed and important, such as my internship.
